Personality types

Every cat has its own distinct personality. While they all belong to the same species and share many similarities, each cat has its unique behaviors and ways of expressing itself. You can often spot these differences early on, sometimes as young as six weeks old, giving you a glimpse of the individual they will become. This allows you to choose a cat that aligns with your preferences—whether you're looking for a tough, shy, sensitive, mischievous, energetic, or calm companion.

Just like people, cats exhibit a range of personality traits, and you can identify four main personality types: the Police, the Queen/King, the Clown, and the Sensitive one. Which one does your cat fit into? Click on each type to learn more.

Introvert or extrovert?

You can see that Maine Coons are often extroverts. They are outgoing in their ways and maybe they are more combative out there and get into fights more easily.
Other cats, are introverts, they want to avoid scary things, and prefer to go and hide or at least stay at a safe distance.
Both variants are equally right, it's part of their unique personalities. It can be good as a cat owner to take time to watch and reflect on how the cat acts.
Is your cat introverted or extroverted?
